Meditation is a good way to start your day. Meditation is nothing but closing of all the other thoughts and focusing on the One Thought. Pranayam or alternative breathing is a technique which will aid you in meditation. You take breathe in with the thought that all the positive energy is taken into your body and after some time you breathe out with all the negative energy being thrown outside. Soothing music also aids you in meditation. Meditation de-stresses your mind from all the tensions that you have. It actually makes you think about other spiritual thing, so that you forget the physical / emotional tension.
Om is a specific word / sound which is very powerful in certain vibrations. Nevertheless, just closing your ears & eyes using palm and humming the Om sound itself will give you high bouts of energy. The Om dhwani / sound will quieten your mind & renew its energy. I tested with one of this OM techniques and you might also like to give it a try.
During your bath or better still after your bath, take the bucket (bigger size - 15-20 lit). The bucket should be empty. It would be good if it is plastic bucket so that it will be lighter. Now, invert that empty bucket over your head, so that your hairs on top of head touches the bottom of the bucket from inside. Now sit still and produce the sound of OM. The echo effect that the bucket gives you will be great to hear. The closed small room that the bathroom is and the fact that you are fresh from the bath will just add to the special effect that the humming of OM inside a bucket will do. You can do it in your garden too, provided you do not feel shy.
